ARTISTIC VISION

COAST MAGAZINE DECEMBER ISSUE
Thank you to the editor and Sam Dunn
for choosing me to be the
December 2015 Artistic Vision

Last Tree in the City was finalized after visiting a local horse stable. It was shocking to find stately oak trees being uprooted, barns leveled and arenas removed. Nearby, earth movers noisily roamed the dusty hillsides of the rapidly disappearing tree shaded land. Disappearing open space is a well-known theme as cities reach farther out to accommodate growing populations.

WINNER - Artist's Magazine

32nd Annual Art Competition

Juror for the Abstract/Experimental category, Betsy Dillard Stroud, said this about the entries she juried. "How far will these outstanding artists travel and where will they go? I can hardly wait to see." And, I too can hardly wait.  Each day I jump out of bed with excitement, anxious to continue my painting journey.

Virga Gallery Exhibition

It is always nice to be invited to show at a fabulous gallery. Virga Siauciunaite, owner of Virga Gallery just across from Main Beach in Laguna, asked a few artists from the Festival of Arts and beyond to show at her gallery in October. Other Festival artists were Brad Elsberry, Cliff Wassman, and Bruce Vanderwilt.

Something had to give....

I've been so busy with paintings and promotions in 2015, I have neglected my blog posts! SInce blogging is an efficient way to log events in my art career, I'm catching up in the days leading up to the New Year.

Summer at The Festival of Arts was fabulous, as usual. With the new Festival facade and contemporary cement wall to welcome clients and visitors, success was shared by all.

My painting, "A Walk in the Woods", was purchased at the silent auction benefiting artists in need. I hope my collectors in Laguna Niguel are enjoying this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it for the theme, Happiness is....
