For the past three years we have been visiting National Parks after my opening at the Sedona gallery.
So far we have explored a total of seven incredible and inspiring parks. Here are two transparent watercolor paintings from our Zion NP and Bryce Canyon NP trip in June, 2010.

The July 7th Laguna Beach First Thursday Art Walk was the busiest so far this year. The Festivals and Pageant had opened which made the evening busy with warm and welcoming activity. It was definitely the place to be on the coast. Sandstone Gallery's doors were open for all who came to see the best contemporary art on Gallery Row. Below are some pictures of guests at my show and a peek at the art.

The show continues through August 1st.
Gallery Hours: Noon to 5 p.m. daily and Tuesday by appointment.
Even though the weather was wet and windy, I was able to get some good photos for this latest video of Vertical Peaks Fine Art as well as the surrounding area. The scenery driving through Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP made it difficult to keep our eyes on the road. The vistas changed constantly from frozen lakes, to mountains covered with snow with roadside snow banks 12 ft high, to the richest green valleys with grazing herds of wild bison and horses. Here is what we saw while driving down from 10,000 ft. into the snow melt and rain drenched Teton valley to Jackson, WY.
On the corner of 6th and Main in downtown Rapid City, Prairie Edge stands two stories high and stretches out for half a block. The brick, wood and glass storefront have been restored to its original 1886 construction when it opened as a dry goods store which eventually became a rowdy cowboy saloon. Prairie Edge opened its doors after renovation in 1993 to showcase six galleries: Fine Art, Plains Indian, Books & Music, Trading Co, Italian Glass Bead, and Sioux Trading Post.
Inside, the hardwood floors and polished cabinetry bring to mind the spirit of the Old West,
while the soft sound of a Lakota flute evokes the mystique of the Great Plains Indian.
The works of regional and nationally acclaimed artists are on display in the second floor

We'll be traveling most of June for pleasure as well as two stops for my art business. The first week will be spent with our son and his wife in Rapid City. Each summer we visit Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Hill City and Custer State Park. There is so much to do and see in that part of the state.

I have an appointment to meet with the gallery director at Prairie Edge Fine Art Gallery in downtown Rapid. I'll be showing and submitting abstract landscapes as well as new representational oil paintings for consignment. I hope she likes them enough to hang them in the best gallery and shop in town.
Although it was a quick trip this year, the weather was perfect and my opening during the Sedona Gallery Walk at Gallery of Modern Masters was fantastic. Click on the link below to see a YouTube video of the Sedona area and my art show. Turn up the volume...the music is lovely!
