All Media Show in Irvine

If you have not been to the Irvine Fine Arts Center, it is time to go. This community center is known for their ceramic studio, jewelry, photography, and art classes in various media. The spacious art gallery windows look out onto Heritage Park and create a perfect setting for rotating art exhibits. 

Two of my paintings were juried into the All Media 2014. Last Tree in the City and The Last Horse were painted after I visited a stable in San Jan Capistrano. Stately old oak trees are being relocated while barns and arenas are being removed to make way for new development. Earth movers noisily roam the dusty hillsides of the rapidly disappearing open space.

BISTANGO RESTAURANT until JANUARY, 2015

Bistango in Irvine, CA was designed to combine art and dining. I was pleased to be invited to this perfect spot showcasing a group of 8 abstract artists from SoCal. 

Half of the restaurant extends into the office complex's atrium. Here is the corner booth looking out. This painting is, Places In TIme.

OPENING AT SANDSTONE GALLERY

What a perfect night for the First Thursday Art Walk of Fall. Crowds walked the street on Gallery Row stopping to carefully look at my latest series of mixed media narratives. They are painted with acrylic, gesso, pencils, inks, charcoal, metallic powder, and collage. I have always been an experimental artist who loves to create paintings worth exploring.
